Mecha Madness is an unfinished YouTube video series made by Youtube user Kugawattan.
It details Pencer's campaign to conquer the entire TF2 Freak World for motives unknown.
Plot[]
Part 1 - Operation: HECU Correctional Facility[]
At the outskirts of the HECU Correctional Facility, two officers discuss the recent Freak-related events around them when they are suddenly alerted by the screams of a fellow soldier, who is being attacked by a GRY Scout robot. The efforts of the three HECU guards defeat the rogue robot, but not before it deals a surprise headshot on one of the soldiers. Worried, the officer sends the fellow soldier to the prison clinic to his aid.
Inside, inmates BLU Gentlemanly Demo, CyborMedic and Dic Soupcan continue their time imprisoned with the former screaming immaturely and the later snoring happily. An officer comes to take Madic outside for some time, much to the BLU Demo’s chargin.
Then, a lone HECU soldier walks by the cell, ignoring the screaming inmates, and reaching an enclosure where officers mention Robosol is inside, awaiting to be reprogrammed to fight for HECU’s side. However their talk is abruptly finished as the lone soldier swiftly eliminates them as an alarm blares. Just a kick is enough to force open the thick metal door and the soldier locks it from inside. The HECU soldier uncloaks in the presence of the Necroborg, revealing to be a gray-clad young female Engineer named Tella. She installs a device on his head which turns him on, but accidentally overcharges him and makes him shoot wildly. When he calms down, Tella asks him who does he work for. Unexpectedly, he says Pencer.
Robosol’s might quickly oliberates any HECU opposition he meets and blows up the jail cell doors accidentally, freeing Dic Soupcan, BLU Gentlemanly Demo and CyborMedic. When things clear up, Tella escorts Robosol out of the facility, but she herself is intercepted by Madic, who despite the element of surprise, doesn’t manage to do any harm to Tella, who soundly defeats him. The girl and the Necroborg leave the facility, and using invisibility and cloaking, get away completely unnoticed.
At an oilrig in the middle of the ocean, Pencer is testing his new invention, a giant Robot made with Pyrogun’s remains, who Pencer is unable to reactivate. To his surprise Tella manages to do just that, and to surprise him further, she appears with Robosol, who salutes.
Part 2 - Skills to Kill[]
Inside Pencer’s oilrig, Tella is working out by fighting against some of her own robots. She practices her dodging and punching skills as well as improvising with her energy manipulation.
Meanwhile, Pencer is testing the Giant Pyrogun Robot’s endurance (by having the Robo Siblings fire guns at him) and aim (against some MeeMs) and is extremely pleased by its power.
Part 3 - Operation: Australium[]
At Cyborneer’s lair, CyborScout and Heavy slumber about. CyborHeavy wakes up hungry and goes for a sandvich, when he notices a GRY Robot Sniper whose headshot is barely blocked by Heavy’s metal arm. Scout wakes up at the gunshot’s noise and shoots at him, buying both time to go behind cover. However, a robot Heavy and Scout ambush them, and fight fiercely but are defeated.
The laugh of a Spy robot doesn’t give the Cybors time to breathe as the robot Spy has Australium on his robot hand, and the Cybors rush in to protect it; unfortunately, the GRY Sniper robot ruthlessly snipes Cyborscout, who falls to the floor, severely bloodied and harmed. This sends CyborHeavy in a fit of rage, as he bum rushes into the Spy robot , knocking him out of comission and destroying the Sniper robot at his nest. CyborScout then wakes up briefly as Heavy calls for Cyborneer’s help.
Cyborneer arrives and in turns calls Dr. Van Windhoek’s help, who despite being very busy, accepts to help. Both Cybors are disturbed though at the arrival of another robot, a huge GRY but brown-tinted Heavy bot called Earthquake, who causes the ground to shake at will. The ambush works well for the robot as he gains the upper hand quickly, but CyborScout uses the last of her strength to pierce his head with her lightsaber and shooting him before collapsing on her knees. The other two cybors combine their might to disable the Heavy robot.
As the three cybors reunite, they hear the Robot Spy they previously attacked, who is now escaping with a a few Australium ingots. But before they can stop him, Earthquake shakes the ground one last time before breaking, buying the Spy bot enough time to escape. He bumps into and knocks back Windhoek in the way, while the four are left scared, though, thinking of who else with access to a robot squad could do with Australium.
The Spy bot arrives at Pencer’s oilrig, while Robosol and Tella are doing friendly sparring, and Pencer is awestruck and laughs in delight upon seeing the Australium. He turns to a Soldier Robot guard and tells him he's gonna turn him into a God.
Part 4 - The Master Plan[]
At Mann Co's Mannworks factory, Bob and Bob fight to retrieve Red Bob's sandvich from a Vagispy. Initially the two Pyros gain the upper hand, however they are caught off guard by the regenerative powers of the Vagispy. Just before the mutant Spy can finish the Bobs off, the Giant Pyrogun-bot appears, crushing the Vagispy beneath its heel before knocking out the Bobs. The nearby Thieving Tin Soldier calls the Giant Pyrogun's attention (while Icy Spy stands nearby), who attempts to convince the giant robot to obey his commands, before being quickly struck aside by the enraged machine.
This brings the Giant Pyrogun close enough to overhear a confrontation between Cheese Scout and Captain Demoman and his posse, Gravy Guitarman and Robot Engie. Captain Demoman's imminent victory is interrupted by the rumbling footsteps of the approaching Giant Pyrogun. Robot Engie immediately recognizes the giant robot, much to Captain Demoman's surprise, before the giant machine guns down Gravy Guitarman. Captain Demoman bravely leaps towards the Giant Pyrogun-bot, sword overhead, only for him to crash face first to the ground. Cheese Scout taunts the defeated Captain Demoman before quickly fleeing at the threat of missile volleys from the Giant Pyrogun. Robot Engie charges at the Giant Pyro Robot, but simply ends up being flattened by the giant's fist.
At Pencer's workshop, he and a grey Engineer robot are constructing an Australium-powered Soldier robot. Pencer admires his work for a moment before receiving an alert about the Giant Pyrogun's progress. He leaves to room to get ready for the next step of his plan, leaving the Engineer-bot continue its work.
In 2fort, where Flyper briefly flies by, Pyrogun is sitting on the RED base, relaxing, while on ground floor Crotch Sniper successfully shoots down a Medibird. Just then, the Giant Pyrogun appears and stomps on the Sniper freak's prey, prompting Crotch Sniper to open fire but his bullets bounce harmlessly off the giant, who charges down and kills the terrified freak. Pyrogun watches the scene in both confusion and horror, speaking out loud and drawing the Giant Pyrogun's ire. The giant climbs up to the terrified Pyro, but its attempt to crush Pyrogun is halted by the cable of Ninjineer.
After a brief, unsuccesful attempt to get Pyrogun to join the fight, Ninjineer engages the Giant Pyrogun in battle. In the scuffle, the ninja lands back on the ground level and signals Heavy Sumo Guy to palm strike the side of the RED fort, causing the distracted Giant Pyrogun to crash below, much to Ninjineer's excitement.
Ninjineer and Heavy Sumo Guy stand their ground, however the massive robot manages to power through their attacks, and the enraged Giant Pyrogun forces Ninjineer to retreat. Heavy Sumo Guy buys the ninja some time by attempting to topple the Giant Pyrogun, but the powerful machine is able to kick him away, crashing him into the RED building. Considering his options, Ninjineer once again runs into Pyrogun on the second floor. Pyrogun teases Ninjineer about the matter before goading Ninjineer to attack the Giant Pyrogun-bot once more. Ninjineer agrees, but brings Pyrogun with him before the cowardly robot can escape.
On the ground level, Heavy Sumo Guy fights a losing battle against the Giant Pyro robot. Ninjineer arrives to see his friend being lifted into the air by his opponent. Heavy Sumo Guy is released at the last moment by a gear thrown into the neck of the Giant Pyrogun. Taking advantage of the distraction, Heavy Sumo Guy grabs the the stunned robot by its neck and severs its head from its body.
Ninjineer and Heavy Sumo Guy celebrate their supposed victory, while Pyrogun looks at the decapitated Gaint Pyrogun, which is reminding him of something. He suddenly remembers that he is able to function without its head, so his giant copy can probably do the same. He desperately warns the other two Freaks to look out as the headless and sparking Giant Pyrogun-bot roars back to life again, sending Ninjineer running for cover and leaving Heavy Sumo Guy ridden with a hail of bullets. Pyrogun desperately tries to open fire on his giant counterpart, forgetting that he still does not have bullets. Heavy Sumo Guy continues to take damage from the Giant Pyrogun-bot's onslaught before collapsing to the floor from his wounds. Ninjineer intervenes to protect his friend, but soon finds himself as the sole focus of the Giant robot's rage.
The ensuing gunfire, flamethrower blasts and explosions draw the attention of the majority of 2Fort's Freak population (including Demopan, Ass Pancakes and SoupCock Porkpie) and they begin to crowd around the central bridge area to watch the fighting. Taking advantage of this distraction, Pencer enters the BLU intelligence complex where he encounters Magician Heavy attempting to perform a magic trick for Stupid Heavy. Pencer swiftly kills the unsuspecting magician and then leads Stupid Heavy with a sandvich into the BLU Intelligence Room, where Campoman is waiting for his next victim. After blowing up Stupid Heavy, Campoman's gloating is cut short by Pencer, who dispatches him with his rocket launcher. Pencer then proceeds to break the reinforced glass of the intel room to enter the main control room within it. Pencer accesses a terminal, upon which he finds the Master Control program, and uses it to configure the respawn settings for every map, and reroutes all respawn locations to one located in "arena_middleofnowhere".
Back at the ground level of the RED base, Ninjineer and Heavy Sumo Guy now lay defenseless before the malfunctioning but still dangerous Giant Pyrogun robot. After desperately searching for a way to help, Pyrogun spots the deceased Crotch Sniper's SMG. Pyrogun dives onto the weapon, collecting its ammunition but drawing the attention of his giant counterpart in the process. He opens fire on the massive machine, but the bullets do little besides angering the Giant Pyrogun-bot. which starts closing in. Pyrogun desperately fires all his remaining ammunition with no effect, however this desperate move causes him to launch a sapper, which amazingly causing the giant robot to self destruct in a massive explosion.
The commotion at the end of the battle has now drawn the attention of even the most prominent Freaks (including Painis Cupcake, Christian Brutal Sniper and Creepy Medic) in the area. Suddenly, an ominous laughter is heard, as Pencer makes his presence known to the entire map. He eagerly gloats to the onlooking Freaks, pronouncing himself as their new ruler, and owner of a robot army. Pyrogun protests, pointing out that even if Pencer won most battles, the Feaks would simply respawn repeatedly and continue to fight against Pencer. It is at this point that Pencer gleefully reveals his respawn-rerouting plot and reveals "arena_middleofnowhere" is an endless, inhospitable desert, leaving any who might respawn stranded and unable to interfere with his plans. To demonstrate his point, Pencer draws a revolver and shoots the head of a wounded Heavy Sumo Guy, killing him instantly. Angered, Ninjineer prepares to attack Pencer, who points out that they are already surrounded by his Sniper bots and would suffer the same fate as Heavy Sumo Guy if they did not follow Pencer's orders without question, and departs instructing them to kill any who thinks of opposing him.
Part 5 - The Freak Conflict begins[]
Pyrogun and Ninjineer find themselves locked in place under the sight of the grey Sniper bots' rifle, however one of their scopes is suddenly blocked by the sight of a Stout Shako presented by Demopan. The other sniper robot attempts to turn its rifle onto Demopan, but a gear thrown by Ninjineer strikes the robot in the back. Demopan sends the robot's head flying past Painis Cupcake as he dodges Christian Brutal Sniper's attack, who proclaims his intent to kill Painis while he is unable to respawn, making him die permanently. Painis dodges the Sniper Freak's attacks before sending him flying into the water below. This results in Creepy Medic becoming startled and rapidly his behaviour starts to become more erratic.
Seeing the coming threat, Ninjineer retreats with Pyrogun, using a smoke bomb to evade Creepy Medic's attention. As Christian Brutal Sniper emerges from the water, Creepy Medic turns his frustration towards him, but Gentlespy uncloaks and diverts the Medic's attention to the Bugler Vagineer, sitting across the map. Enraged from a previous encounter, Creepy Medic launches himself into a brutal fight with the Bugler. The nearby Soljah attempts to convince the two enraged freaks to stop fghting, only to be swallowed whole by Creepy Medic. Taking advantage of the distraction, the Bugler strikes Creepy Medic through the stomach, then ripping the Medic's head off.
The Bugler then turns his attention to the fight between Painis Cupcake, Christian Brutal Sniper, and Gentlespy. Despite being surrounded and recieving multiple cut and stab wounds from both Christian Brutal Sniper and GentleSpy, Painis is able to use his brute strength to toss Christian Brutal Sniper onto Gentlespy. At this point, the Bugler joins the attack against Painis, using its extended limbs to hit Painis with multiple attacks, forcing him to the ground. Gentlespy and Christian Brutal Sniper briefly comment on the surprising teamwork exhibited by the Vagineer as it prepares to finish off Painis, however the Bugler is struck from above by a new combatant. Ass Pancakes comes to Painis' aid soon followed by SoupCock Porkpie. Unwilling to risk an even fight, Christian Brutal Sniper, GentleSpy and the bugler decide to retreat. Ass Pancakes inquires if anyone has a plan, to which Painis asks the group to follow.
On the nearby BLU rooftop, Demopan has observed the end of the fight and is uncertain as to what has occurred, but he is soon distracted by the sound of thundering machinery behind him. It prompts him to exclaim "Oh, this is not good."
Part 6 - Steely Dispute[]
In a remote district of Kong King, multiple HECU members lie dead, showing signs of being killed by metal and earth powers. Shriek, Golem and Razor ponder their future following the death of their master, Dr. Schadenfreude. Their discussion is interrupted by the appearance of Tella at the lower street corner. She confidently suggests that the "Gray Team" join Pencer's forces. Her proposal is interrupted by Razor firing a warning shot in response.
Disappointed by their initial refusal, Tella suggests that her "friend" may change their minds, at which point Robosol loudly rounds the corner at the upper level of the stairs. In a panic, Shriek attempts to flee down the stairs away from Robosol, but is quickly halted by a quick extension of Tella's arm, knocking him flat in one movement. Unwilling to give up, Shriek returns to his feet and attempts to hit Tella with sono-kinetic attacks, which Tella is able to repeatedly evade before punching Shriek in the head. Shriek, now with one damaged eye, attempts to go on the offensive by relying on the speed of his attacks, but finds Tella's shield prevents her from taking damage. Angered by her resilience, he continues a flurry of punches against her shield, drawing the attention of Razor.
Razor orders Golem to assist Shriek, but he is unable to disengage Robosol who he is locked in a physical struggle with. Razor draws the robot's attention with a shot to the head, allowing Golem a moment to leave the fight. With his attention now on Razor, Robosol deploys his hand-mounted submachine guns. In response, Razor enables his Steel Mode, hardening his body and deploying several firearms from his body mass. Both Freaks open fire with a barrage of lead, neither side budging much, though Robosol seems surprised by the unexpected resistance from Shriek, protesting by insulting him.
Meanwhile, Tella takes the opportunity to charge some her power into her fist, glowing with purple lightning. while the now exhausted Shriek falling back in horror. As she lunges forward to strike however, Golem intercepts the punch, saving Shriek from harm. Surprised but unfazed by the interruption, Tella strikes Golem with a high kick to the head, enraging the larger freak. Golem attempts several slow punches against Tella, who nimbly steps past each attack, including a slam striking into the pavement. Golem, at this point, is able to shake the ground below Tella, who partly loses her balance as she attempts to dodge floating rocks appearing from ground, one of which strikes her shield.
Attempting to retake the initiative, Tella rushes forward and strikes Golem with a powered up punch. Golem is knocked back but without serious damage. Shriek then assists Golem by tossing a piece of loose concrete debris, which Golem increases in size, catching Tella by surprise. Golem strikes her with enough to knock her to the ground, disabling her shield in the process. Golem, now confident of victory lifts the boulder over his head, goaded on by Shriek. Acting immediately, and in a fit of rage, Tella leaps to her feet to the surprise of both gray team members and rushes at them with a super charged punch. The impact sends Golem flying into Shriek, who was able to dodge in the nick of time.
Golem then made impact on the far corner of a wall creating a crater on the side of the building. As Shriek tends to his ally, Tella goads him into getting back into the fight. A one-on-one fight then ensues between the two in which Shriek tries to be beat down Tella, but the latter easily gains the advantage and sends him flying into a wooden site wall, knocking him out unconscious. An injured Golem regains consciousness and saw his defeated ally. In an attempt to avenge Shriek, he tries to attack Tella by throwing a big rock at her, but she destroys it with little effort. With no other options left, and as a last resort, Golem attempts to enter his Golem Mode, but Tella interrupts it by giving him a knee to the cheek, knocking him out cold.
Tella's victory was then interrupted by an explosion. Razor, who has been hit by Robosol's shoulder cannon and is visibly damaged, continues fighting by deploying a metallic rocket launcher of his own to match Robosol's firepower. Realizing that neither ballistic or explosive weapons will severely damage Razor, Robosol activates his fire-breathing ability, coating Razor in fire, causing him to begin to melt. However, Tella arrives and orders Robosol to stop, as she wants the group alive and repeats her previous offer to the gray team. She then departs while Robosol vanishes via his cloaking device. Razor collapses to the ground, burnt and singed across his chest and limbs. He looks over at his unconscious teammates before closing his eyes.
Trivia[]
- Cyborbattle in Turbine acts as a spiritual prequel of the series, with Pencer appearing at the end, retrieving Pyrogun's remains, which would become the Giant, Robotic Pyrogun featured in Episode 1 Onwards.
- CyborMedic and BLU Gentlemany Demo appear in the cells of the Correctional Facility, as they had been imprisoned following the events of Australium Unleashed and Soldine's Quirky Crime-Fighting Night, respectively.
- Likewise, Dic Soupcan is still in his cell despite having had his jail cell opened by Handsome Rogue in Operation: Vagineer. Because Dic was asleep at the time, it can be assumed he never noticed and thus never left the cell.
- In Robotic Hostility, Medizard is seen fighting against a Soldier robot and a Scout robot, both gray and bearing the Mecha Army symbol on their arms. Despite this, the video is not considered part of the Mecha Madness series due to having no real impact on the plot.
- In Episode 2, the Giant Pyrogun-bot first use of weapons is against some MeeMs, just like the original Pyrogun in Gentlemanly Demo's Greatest Duel.
- In Episode 4, Pencer mentions that his plan has been in preparation for eight years, which is the time between the release of Cyborbattle in Turbine and The Master Plan, referencing how the former video is Pencer's debut and his finding of Pyrogun's remains would start his scheme.
- Initially, it was Pencer's plan to disable the respawn system entirely rather than having dead Freaks respawn in a "prison map". It was changed late in development as it felt less grounded in reality to be able to remove hundreds of character's life systems.
- In Episode 5, the Bugler Vagineer remembers Painis Cupcake from the duels they had in a TF2 Freak Fight and subsequently in Painis Cupcake's Revenge.
- The Bugler's attack on Painis with his detached arms in swinging motions was inspired by the use of the Blades of Chaos by Kratos from God of War.
- From Episode 6 onwards, the series began extensive use of the Uberduck.ai website, a text-to-speech program that includes the voice of the TF2 characters. In episode 5 however, it used 15.ai instead, but the author made the switch due to the latter's grainy, raspy output voices.
- In Episode 6, the unseen abilities of Razor, Robosol, and Tella are shown for the first time; for Razor, his Steel Mode, for Robosol, his Fire-breathing ability, and for Tella, her agility.
- Because the series remained unfinished as of now, the current fate of Pyrogun and Ninjineer is still unknown while Heavy Sumo Guy is presumably killed off.
