Handsome Rogue is a YLW Spy TF2 Freak with red eyes who possesses unique abilities. He was created by YouTube user SarisKhan.

His theme is Shadow Dio's theme from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Heritage for the Future.

Appearance

Handsome Rogue appears as a Spy dressed in yellow with a black collar and a red tie. He has red-colored eyes.

Biography

Handsome Rogue roams the TF2 Freak World, causing mayhem and chaos whenever and wherever he sees fit.

One day he was enraged when a customer bought the last burger in a KFC restaurant, and he decided to wreak some havoc in Evo City. Unfortunately for him, a RED Sniper, who is Soldine's friend, called for the cyborg's help. Soldine came to the scene and after a prolonged, intense battle destroyed Handsome Rogue with a powerful uppercut punch, leaving only his charred remains.

Several months later, Rogue's remains were retrieved by Robosol and brought to a certain BLU Vagineer's lab. The malformed Engineer resurrected the fallen Freak and after a brief scuffle forced him to participate in his evil scheme.

Subsequently Handsome Rogue freed Dic Soupcan, Demopan and Madic from the Evo City Correctional Facility and led the latter back to Vagineer's lab. The duo was then tasked with leading a horde of zombies in a distraction attack on Milltown.

Rogue killed numerous police officers who defended the city. Afterward, he intercepted Madic, Soldine and Orangeman, who decided to stop the Vagineer's plot. After using Time Stop, he attempted to finish them off with his Pain Engine. However, he was interrupted by Ninjineer's timely arrival. Handsome Rogue fought with the ninja Freak until HECU reinforcements forced him to retreat and subsequently abandon the Vagineer.

Some time later he massacred a GRN team on Fastlane and was about to kill its last remaining member when Energineer suddenly appeared. The two fought a brief but intense battle and the cyborg vigilante was able to win by striking Rogue with a powerful lightning beam. However, the mutant Spy turned out to be not quite dead after Energineer's hasty departure.

One day Handsome Rogue rested on Gorge, but he was suddenly interrupted by Captain Demoman and his cronies, Robot Engie and Gravy Guitarman. As they challenged him, Rogue leapt at them with morbid enthusiasm and defeated all of them in no time. Whilst he proclaimed his superiority, Sodeanator came and drew his attention.

The two promptly started fighting. Sodeanator's martial arts and special cans proved to be a challenge to Handsome Rogue, who eventually resorted to use Time Stop. With his opponent immobilised, he dealt several heavy blows and sent him flying, achieving another victory. Private Funnyman arrived together with Cheese Scout and Spy of Influence, declaring that Rogue honoured their entire unit.

Another time, Handsome Rogue approached Soldine, Orangeman, Major Scout Guy and Cyborneer, intent on finally getting his revenge on the former. Knowing that there were higher priorities for the rest of the team, Soldine decided to hold Rogue off while the rest pursue the primary goal.

Weeks later Handsome Rogue met the fledgling Destroyer in a random encounter on Kong King. The GRY Engineer proved to be a formidable opponent, prompting Handsome Rogue to unleash his most powerful combo attack. Even though he put up a fight, Handsome Rogue's Pain Engine was detonated by Destroyer and the Spy himself launched high into the air, defeated once again.

A couple of years later in the distant city of Kōsaten, Japan, Handsome Rogue got bored while waiting for the underground to arrive. He proceeded to bully a few innocent bystanders but was interrupted by Saya, a young ORG Femscout Freak who issued him a challenge. The two started their fight at a nearby square. Saya was able to evade a couple of initial blows and land some of her own, causing Handsome Rogue to promptly recognise her as a threat. Unwilling to get pressured into a quick defeat like during his earlier encounter with Energineer, he began pushing the female Freak back with a series of physical strikes, a flurry of thrown knives, and even a car toss. Nevertheless, Saya assumed her "Super Saya" state and, significantly empowered, turned the tables with little effort. Now unable to land even a single solid hit, Rogue employed Time Stop and summoned his Pain Engine to crush her. Still, the female Scout managed to catch and lift the vehicle in the nick of time she had had to react. With his ultimate attack ineffective, Handsome Rogue decided to hastily retreat.

Personality and Behaviour

Similarly to normal Spies, Handsome Rogue is arrogant and overconfident. He seems to take delight in causing mayhem and chaos, and likes to intimidate his victims. With a marked tendency to underestimate his opponents, he is rather careless during combat. In addition, he is an extravagant person. Talkative, histrionic, and boastful, he is also prone to assuming a variety of dramatic, slightly awkward poses. Whenever he is about to go on another rampage or just excited in general, he has a habit of snorting in an amusing manner.

However, Rogue is not always hostile. As shown during rare instances of downtime, he is capable of peaceful interaction with others, at least for a while. Be that as it may, his affable and even somewhat charming veneer is little more than a disguise for his inherently malicious nature, which always resurfaces sooner or later, often with gruesome results for whomever happens to be in the vicinity.

Apparently, Rogue can be forced to work for a stronger Freak, as he was temporarily recruited by the Mastermind Vagineer. In the end, however, he promptly defected when his new position started to cause him some trouble, in accordance with his authority-despising chaotic nature. After all he is a free spirit, focused solely on his own enjoyment and unwilling to participate in the schemes of others.

Powers and Abilities

Handsome Rogue is uncommonly nimble, and his fitness and physical prowess are far beyond human norm. His considerable strength allows him to easily batter normal people or kick an opponent across a moderate distance. Furthermore, he is able to dodge automatic gunfire and jump over large distances with little effort. He can also recover from severe wounds extremely quickly, though unlike for example Vagineer, he needs to absorb fresh blood in order to do so.

In addition, he can summon a seemingly endless supply of knives on a whim. He can send as many as he needs, as often as he needs and in any direction he wishes without need for recollection of them, and with deadly accuracy to boot. More recently he has been seen to be able to control them with his mind and change their trajectory mid-air.

Rogue's most signature ability, Time Stop, allows him to locally freeze time for a short period, allowing him to flee, attack, stall the impending attacks of his enemies, or give himself time to think of a plan. This time freeze lasts for approximately 5 seconds in a circular area of 10 metres radius, with the centre at the location of Handsome Rogue at the time of activation. The ability has a cooldown of thirty seconds and drains a noticeable portion of his energy. During his encounter with Saya, Rogue was also able to employ Time Stop in brief bursts to relocate rapidly, seemingly teleporting around the battlefield.

Rogue can also summon a train engine to crush his enemy when time is paused - his ultimate attack, the Pain Engine. The vehicle weighs slightly over 100 tonnes, and as such poses considerable threat even to high-rank TF2 Freaks. Nevertheless, Time Stop ceases the moment the train manifests, so Handsome Rogue's opponent is granted a brief window of opportunity to evade or brace for impact.

Faults and Weaknesses

  • Rogue occasionally stops to taunt or mock his opponent regardless of whether they are defeated yet. This is open space to attack him in.
  • Despite his enhanced fitness, Handsome Rogue lacks actual destructive power. Except for his ultimate technique, he is often unable to deal any significant damage to the more powerful opponents, as seen during his fight with Soldine - he was not able to actually injure the cyborg until very late into the battle.
  • He is often overconfident or underestimates enemy abilities, leaving him vulnerable at various times when he thinks things will be smooth sailing on his part.

Trivia

  • Handsome Rogue is based on Dio Brando from the manga and anime series, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, more specifically his appearance in part 3 of the series, Stardust Crusaders. In said part, Dio was able to stop time and use knives via his Stand, The World. An example of Dio's powers which were passed on to Handsome Rogue can be seen here.
    • The Pain Engine serves as a reference to Dio's infamous "Road Roller" attack, where he sends a giant steamroller down on victims.
    • When Handsome Rogue would yell Za Warudo, he would usually say it in Dio's voice. This occurred in most all of his appearances up until the episode Saya, where he now said it in his normal TF2 Spy voice.
  • He is the oldest YLW Team TF2 Freak.
  • Handsome Rogue is ambidextrous, and frequently uses both of his hands and legs equally in combat.
  • Evidently, Handsome Rogue and Doppelganger know each other. In spite of the belligerence of their conversation in Doppelganger's Rampage: Part 6 - Cyborneer, they seem to share some sort of vitriolic friendship rather than being actual enemies. This is supported by the fact that their banter did not involve actual violence and Doppelganger left without even attempting to assimilate Handsome Rogue's powers.
